I invite you to join me in my “studio” where I spend a lot of my time either painting or preparing to paint, or framing and preparing for shows. I am willing to talk about “the art of painting/drawing, discuss the world of Art that I live in and what its like to take this on professionally!

Open Doors of the SECRET GALLERY
Following a very successful REVEAL of the SECRET GALLERY, we shall be doing it again……. The owners of this beautiful holiday rental which accommodates 8 people on Portland, have made it into a special Secret gallery filled with my work. (I am blessed). There are more than 70 paintings hanging from bottom to top of the house. All are for sale or you can see examples of portraiture which I am available for commissions.
Get your diaries out and book the day…..Friday2nd Oct : 2 to 6pm and Sat 3rd: 10am - 2pm -

SPECIAL OPENING of the SECRET GALLERY
I’m sorry I was a bit delayed due to a BIG problem with obtaining access to the INTERNET!!! Nowadays that’s a bit like cutting your throat! After spending some hours travelling to the nearest repair shop I AM BACK ON LINE -YEH!!!!
So hopefully I have caught you in time to come over to PORTLAND on SUNDAY 26th July and enjoy viewing the 70+ paintings and Tea and cake or Cheese and Wine. We are also running a raffle for a piece of artwork all proceeds of which will go to the RNLI. Opening at a 3pm to 7pm.

DORSET ARTS WEEKs
Dorset Art Weeks - two weeks of exhibitions and Open Studios throughout the county of Dorset.
Podi will be exhibiting together with other artists at the Portland Royal Manor Theatre (on Fortuneswell), both exhibiting and demonstrating her techniques. The Exhibition is open from 10.30am to 5pm each day with a “pop-up” Cafe serving tea/coffee and home made cake. What’s not to enjoy!!!

1-3 March : Staying full board at the newly opened BnB-side. A new development by b-side Arts centred at 77 Fortuneswell, on the iconic isle of Portland.
Podi will be available to give advice about drawing and painting. Suitable for beginners or those that have some experience but would like the guidance of a professional artist/tutor.
There is a lot to think about when painting and If you are new to painting, or even an experienced artist seeking a bit more guidance, give me an hour or two of your time to explore how to become a more interesting artist — to push your work that little bit further. We’ll start with an initial FREE “get to know each other” meeting of one hour to discuss your goals and look at your work. Take advantage of the expertise of professional award winning artist Podi Lawrence and join a 2-hour introduction to Drawing and Painting. If you are visiting the South coast of Dorset, make sure you visit the island of Portland. Full of intriguing history, with the earliest site known of communities in the whole of the UK. Podi Lawrence has been a painter for the majority of her life and is happy to pass on many practical tips and advice. You will learn how to develop an artists’ eye to draw with pen and paint with watercolour. Inspired by the local nature and views along the Southern Coastline.
The Final Journey
SATURDAY. APRIL 4TH is the very last day of this exhibition
An investigation over the past year by 19 artists has resulted in an exhibition of work and displays that will literally ‘blow your mind’. It was an inspiring and surprisingly intriguing topic with each person’s own take on the etherial - we also had the opinions/advice of several people in the “death” business including an Embalmer/priest and undertakers.
The”artwork” itself is almost beyond description from canons to yes a coffin which has been painted by others. Suitcases with objects that have feature strongly in their lives.
Well worth a visit . People who have visited the exhibition have expressed their surprise at how interesting it is. It really makes you think - “what would you take on your last journey” if you could.
