You will be staying in a family-run hotel, close to the beach and shops. Each room has twin beds, fridge, tea/coffee making, ensuite facilities and a private outside space. There is a wide variety of visual inspiration and we will be painting en plein air every day for as long as you wish. On the first day following your arrival on the island you will you be taken on a tour of the island, finishing up on one of the many splendid beaches, to unwind. This island has fascinating history, which Liz and John be happy to tell you about. The British couple have lived on the island for over 18 years now. You will see mountains covered in herbs, quiet beaches, seascapes with surrounding islands, old Greek fishing boats to study in the local harbour, historical buildings in the port of Pothia. And…. Sunsets to sit and watch with a glass of what you fancy in your hand. You will also experience the true hospitality of the Greek people, their exceptional food (yogurt, honey, Mousaca and Metaxa and some superb wines). Join Podi this year for a ‘life time’ experience. Non-painter partners are invited too.

WHAT TO BRING. You don't have to weigh yourselves down with equipment we supply easels, boards and chairs. The minimum you need is just a sketchbook, pen, pencils/watercolours but of course you can bring paints as well. Talk to Podi for a list or find out what is allowed on flight. Podi is expert painter in all mediums and has been teaching for many years. She will be on hand each day to offer advice throughout the week if you are just starting she will design a course specifically for you, if expert, you will get lots of chatter and ideas to experiment.
WHAT YOU GET………… A twin bedded room with ensuite fridge, small cooking space, outside seating. Included are all breakfasts (love the Greek Yoghurt), transport to painting sites and lunch, welcoming evening meal and a celebration meal on the last day. The hotel is close to small shops, plenty of restaurants and, of course, the beach. We have had many course member spending more than a week on the island.

Join Podi on Kalymnos September 16, 2025 - the cost: £1350.00 a deposit of £135 will guarantee your place. Extra costs will be the journey there & back ie., flights, transfers and insurance. Flights go to Kos (the nearest island to Kalymnos) where you will need to get the ferry from Mastachari (10 minute taxis) to Kalymnos.

Greece Sept 5 - 12, 2023 : A really enjoyable week with enthusiastic painters.Yet another enjoyable and successful trip to Kalymnos with Liz and John of Greek Island Painting Trips and the lovely talented lady tutor Podi Lawrence. Podi guided us through light and shade and colour and taught us to look at our painting subject in a different way. I now look longer before putting pen and paint to paper. I have improved in my efforts under her spell. Liz and John are wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble and our enjoyment and welfare are paramount. They both look after everyone in the group and take us to beauty spots around the island to paint. Another bonus of this type of trip is meeting up with likeminded people who enjoy their art. I have been to Kalymnos for this art holiday 3 times now and enjoyed every one. I hope to go back for a fourth time in the future. Thank you to the terrific trio for a great holiday.
